Duterte said that he will legalize marijuana, for the Medicinal Purposes only

Presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte said he will never allow recreational marijuana, but he is open to the use marijuana for medical purposes.

Speaking to reporters Monday night, Duterte said there are now medicines that have marijuana as a component.

"Medicinal marijuana, yes, because it is really an igredient of modern medicine now. There are medicines right now being developed or already in the market that contains marijuana as a component but used for medical purposes." he said.

Duterte, however, was firm on saying that those who will be caught using marijuana for recreational purposes will be punished, as provided by law.

"Pero 'yung maghithit ka lang dyan, parang sigarilyo, I will not allow it ever because I have seen so many of my classmates even noon..," he said.

"It remains to be prohibited item and there's always, a threat of being arrested, or if you choose to fight the law enforcement agency, you die," Duterte added.

Isabela Rep. Rodolfo Albano III in 2014 filed House Bill No. 04477 (Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act), which aims to legalize the use of marijuana for medical purposes.

In 2015, the head of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said the Church supports the use of prohibited drugs and narcotics, such as marijuana, for the terminally ill.

Doctors, on the other hand, are opposing the bill, adding that experts have yet to confirm the efficacy of medical marijuana.

Possession of at least 10 grams of marijuana resin or marijuana resin oil, or at least 500 grams of marijuana is punishable with life imprisonment and a fine ranging from P500,000 to P10 million, as stipulated in the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Duterte Called The Catholic Church The Most Hypocritical Institution!

There was a controversy before the elections where the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) released a pastoral letter saying that people should not elect him as the president. 

But now that Duterte won the elections with 6.2 million lead over the Liberal Party standard bearer Mar Roxas, he described his win as a 'public referendum'. 

"They campaigned against me, everybody was saying 'Do not vote for Duterte.' Fine. I said, let this election be a referendum between me and the Catholic Church... Sabi ko, this will be a referendum kung sinong tama sa atin. Look, were you able to stop me? Iilan lang kayong mga obispo diyan,"he said. 

On May 1, the CBCP reminded the people to never elect a man who is 'morally reprehensible' and the one who goes against the right of other and the teachings of the Church. 

This is because of the issue of him womanizing as well as for the public death squad. 

"I will lecture until June 29 the sins of the Catholic Church, and whether or not you are still relevant. Alam mo, the most hypocritical institution is the Catholic Church," this is the strong message of Duterte.

Chasing "drug lords" is one of the promises of the incoming administration. With the latest raids that the security officials have been doing, it is noticeable that the commitment has started to be fulfilled.

In the most recent drug raid, 7 Chinese citizens were arrested in Binondo, Manila. According to CIDG spokesperson Chief Inspector Elizabeth Jasmin said the suspects were caught in a buy-bust operation in the Epitome Flower Shop situated at Pacific Center room 89-b, Quintin Paredes Street. An undercover group accompanied by Bernadette Tagle set up the suspects and tried to buy illegal substances that led to the arrest of the perpetrators.



An official said that the supposed flower shop was leased, but there was no permit for it to operate. They found 3 kilos of allegedly prohibited substances which has a value of almost 3 million pesos. Keren Ten, believed to be the owner of the unit, tried to deny the operation, but apparently admitted. She also confessed that the group has a connection to a member of the Anti-Illegal Drug unit of Manila Police District whose role is an adviser. She said that the official has the initials BDG.

Images were uploaded in different social media, which is now circling online.

There was a young girl in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur who was declared dead by a doctor. However, everyone was surprised that the girl was brought back to life while she was having a burial mass. Base of the spectators, while the body was about to be given a blessing led by the priest, the little girl promptly moved its head the time the cover of the coffin was removed.

They immediately brought the girl back to the hospital where she was pronounced dead, but nothing took place because the doctors who handled the patient insisted that the girl was no longer alive that time. The parents were thinking to bring her to a more extensive hospital affirming that the girl is still alive.

She conveyed in an interview:

"Sang ayon ako na may system audit para maalis yung lahat ng duda stungkol sa integridad ng proseso ng eleksyon. Yung akin lang yung mga ganung hakbang okay sakin yun. Yung hindi okay sa akin yung nagpaparatang na nandaya na wala namang basehan. Yung mag-o-audit, titignan... Paagay ko hindi lang siya yung magbe-benefir pati din ako."

Robredo also mentioned that her 200,000 lead in the current vote counting is safe, however, she is quite concerned about possible actions from other camps that could ruin the ongoing process.

She added:

"Sa kin lang ano... sana wala silang binabalak na pandaraya na gagawin sa canvassing. Kasi yung winoworry ko ngayon klaro naman yung numero pero parang mina-mind condition nila. Hindi ko alamyung precursor ito to something. Pero sana hindi."

The whole nation is longing for a clean and honest election from start to finish. No one would allow a biased camp to destroy the integrity of the results. The voters are not dumb to believe ill-founded statements. If you'd like to question something, bring it to the proper venue. :)
